âThe Maker explores the preciousness of our moments on earth, the short time we have with loved ones and the enjoyment of ones lifeâs work and purpose. In their fleeting existence our characters experience joy, love, hard work, purpose, loss and loneliness. As the tagline suggests, âlife is what you make itâ and we are all makers in this worldâ.
Los Angeles production team Christopher and Christine Kezelos of Zealous Creative have created a touching multi-award winning stop-motion animated short film titled The Maker that puts you in a fantasy world and follows a strange creature as he âraces against time to make the most important and beautiful creation of his lifeâ. The short film is available to download from their official website.

I had the opportunity to swing by TBC Hot Rods and Bikes in Fayetteville, NC and check out the shop. Every month the guys at the shop pool their funds together to bring in a band, food, and drinks for “Garage Night”. It is something that really gives back to the automotive community in Fayetteville which is what it is all about. Tim Bradham is one of the nicest people you will meet and is a master fabricator. He creates a lot of things out of raw materials and it is amazing to see something start from nothing.
This morning the Los Angeles-based street artist Shepard Fairey was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay a $25,000 fine by United States magistrate Judge Frank Maas in a Manhattan federal court, concluding a long legal battle between the artist and the Associated Press over a photo of then-congressman Barack Obama that served as the basis for his iconic âHOPEâ poster.
âAfter spending a great amount of time, energy and legal effort, all of us at The Associated Press are glad this matter is finally behind us,â AP president and chief executive Gary Pruitt said in a statement quoted by the New York Times. âWe hope this case will serve as a clear reminder to all of the importance of fair compensation for those who gather and produce original news content.â
Fairey and the AP settled an earlier, civil case revolving around fair use laws, with both parties reaching an undisclosed financial agreement and planning to share merchandising rights to the image. The case that was decided today stemmed from Faireyâs guilty plea in February to criminal contempt, when he that he had destroyed and falsified documents pertaining to the case. Prosecutors originally sought a six-month jail sentence for the street artist, but instead he will serve two years of probation and pay a $25,000 fine.
âMy wrong-headed actions, born out of a moment of fear and embarrassment, have not only been financially and psychologically costly to myself and my familyâ Fairey said following the verdict according to the Times, âbut also helped to obscure what I was fighting for in the first place â the ability of artists everywhere to be inspired and freely create art without reprisal.â

Pffft…”The ability of artists everywhere to be inspired and freely create art without reprisal.”
I believe it’s called plagerizing Shepard. It’s too bad all those dead artists can’t follow suit on your other work.
Jim Power, aka the âMosaic Manâ, has been creating his Mosaic Trail in New York Cityâs East Village for over 25 years as a way to document the neighborhoodâs history. Now world famous, the Mosaic Trail consists of 80 lampposts covered in his mosaics, each one representing important people and happenings in the Village. Etsy recently featured Jim on their blog and made a short, fascinating documentary about his work and life titled Jim Power and the Mosaic Trail.
I am sure many of you will remember the 1974 Sedalia Bluegrass Festival which turned out to be a rowdy rock festival with big bands such as the Eagles. What you are seeing are Super 8 film I took while there. The first band you see on stage is America. It turned out to be an almost out of control event. Those were the 1970s. – Credit:The Garbonzo Band
